I was told by my son
D.C. people
On the street
Are not engaging
Our first visit
My first walk to the Metro
People smiled
Nodded
And greeted me
Yes there were some
Mumbles
Blank stares
And Turned heads
But
People were seeing me
I told myself
I am the exception
My simile is very engaging
Then a woman said to me
Your zipper is down
